What is an Acheiropodia?

It is defined as a condition in which there is a disorder known as the hemimelia in which there is no formation of distal extremities. It is also known as the horn Kolb syndrome and is referred as an Acheiropody. This is the autosomal recessive condition. It is mainly a congenital defect. This is mainly caused by the mutation in LMBR1 gene.

What are the signs and symtoms of Acheiropodia?

It includes the bilateral amputations of the distal upper and lower extremities. It also leads to the aplasia of hands and feet. The first case of this condition was seen in Brazil.

What is the treatment of Acheiropodia?

There is no specific treatment for this disorder.
